(13:30) – Tour of Turkey’s 7th Stage of 124km between Kuşadası-İzmir started. As the weather condition’s checked, with the sun, the wind blowing from sea towards the land may challenge the riders even if today’s stage profile is softer than the previous ones. Cameron Meyer (GreenEDGE), Luke Roberts (SaxoBank) and Geoffroy Lequatre (Bretagne Schuller) quit the race and didn’t take start today. We’ll keep you updated with the race news during the day from here.
(13:36) – Because of the stage profile, sprint finish is expected today. Maybe Matthew Goss (GreenEDGE) can break the leg and won’t be the second this time
(13:40) – As riders left 3,2km behind, race officially started.
(13:45) – Attack attempts began; Today’s first attack came from Iljo Keisse (OmegaPharma-Quickstep) as Marek Canecky (Salcano-Arnavutköy) chased him but they both got caught immediately, peloton proceeds as a whole.
(13:50) – 7 riders broke away Andrey Zeits (Astana), Mikhail Ignatyev (Katusha), Iljo Keisse (Omega Pharma-Quickstep), Laurent Pichon (Bretagne Schuller), Damien Gaudin (Europcar), Jerome Cousin (Europcar) and Marek Canecky (Salcano-Arnavutköy), 4 riders including the turquoise jersey is chasing them.
